An architect is a person who involved their self with the planning, designing, and oversight of a building's construction. The term "architect" was derived fro the Latin word architectus or from the Greek word arkhitekton. An architect, in the simplest sense, is a person who translates a person's ideas or plans into the builder's requirements or design. An architect's design must meet all the requirements and standards that are set by the operational codes. They must also understand the building to the fullest. Such a high degree of knowledge about the buildings is a must so that no conflicts are made ,and so he does not fail to add or omit any necessary requirements or simply make improper or conflicting requirements to the structure.
The architect must also have plenty of knowledge of all the methods the builder has for building this client’s structure. This is so that he or she can negotiate with the builder and client so they can complete the building within the time limit and still maintain the budget set for the structure. Architects also must quite frequently make decisions based around the design and planning of the building to ensure the safety of the occupants and general public. To become an architect, a person must first obtain a specialized degree or professional license; similar to most other professional jobs. Some of these requirements vary from place to place.
The Pritzker Prize is held as the most prestigious award an architect can receive. This prize is often referred to as the “Nobel Prize for architecture.” The American Institute of Architects and Royal Institute of British Architects offer other types of awards for architects on a national or regional level. Examples of these other awards are the Alvar Aalto Medal and the Carlsberg Architecture Prize. Even though the term architect refers to a person who has a license to complete these various tasks, the word is often used in a broader sense then above to describe a person who gives orders to the built or inbuilt environment through the resources of rational constructs.
An example of these would be naval architects, software architects, and people who have graduated from schools of architecture who are currently working within architecture firms are all often referred to as architects. However, in a lot of countries a person who does not have a license in architecture is prohibited by law from calling themselves architects. Most degrees are earned through going to schools designed specifically for teaching architecture to it’s pupils.
There are online colleges, universities, or distance learning programs at which a degree can be obtained. This is for those who have to work a job to support themselves while attending school mostly. In fact, most accredited institutions of architecture offer online courses to people towards this degree. Also a degree in architecture calls for specialized training in specific classrooms or internships. Most of these internships can last up to three years. Architects are often smart people who lead an enriched life through their work.
